In other upcoming projects, MUSKAAN has taken up a pilot project to reduce road fatalities on Shahpura-Jaipur-Kishangarh stretch on NH8, in collaboration with Police, Transport, Health and PWD Departments, NHAI and Concessionaires (GVK and Pink City Expressway Pvt. Ltd.).
During a meeting organized by the Transport Department and chaired by the Chief Secretary in July last year regarding Road Safety, it was decided to adopt a section of the National Highway and convert it into an accident-free zone. Consequently, MUSKAAN submitted a proposal for coordination between stakeholders and IEC activities to the Transport Department. A Core Committee was formed, chaired by ADG Traffic to prepare an action plan and implement the project.
In the first quarter of 2013, a survey on this stretch was conducted by the Core Committee to identify engineering faults, enforcement loopholes, requirements of IEC and Emergency services. Implementation of this project is now underway.
